Once I had a couple of friends that invested their respective families money into some water coolers for offices scheme. They’d answered an ad in the newspaper and were looking for some kind of investment. I’m not sure how they got turned on to water, but they sunk everything in it. For example, two of their kids couldn’t go to college because their parents had spent their college education money on water funds, and other investments that were supposed to make them rich. The funny thing is that both of them ended up owning a water distribution system, and they had to hire their kids to carry the water with them. But before long, all the kids were making some serious money, and they didn’t even know how they got so rich so quick. Most everybody who told them it would never work, and that they were squandering their kids’ education were too ashamed to say anything to them after that. I think this is a good story.
